Burnsville Kitchen Flood

The challenge

A toilet supply line in the upstairs bathroom let go, and the water ran down into the kitchen below — inches of it stood on the floor by the time it was found. It soaked through the ceiling and cabinets, damaging finishes on two levels.

Our approach

We dried the structure on both levels and opened the ceiling and walls where the water traveled. With the kitchen already back to studs, the repair became the moment to rebuild rather than patch — new cabinets, counters, a hood, and lighting planned into the restoration.

The results

The kitchen came back brighter and more open. A microwave-over-range gave way to a custom hood, the tan stone backsplash to grey tile, and dark walls and short cabinets to white cabinetry and marble-look quartz — the same footprint, current finishes.

Cause of loss: a toilet supply line in the upstairs bathroom let go and flooded the kitchen below. Scope: structural drying on two levels, then a full kitchen rebuild.

By the time the running water was traced upstairs, inches of it stood across the kitchen floor and had soaked down through the ceiling and cabinets. Drying and demolition took the kitchen back to studs and reached the finishes the water had ruined on both levels.

With the room already open, the repair was the moment to rebuild rather than patch. The microwave-over-range gave way to a custom hood, the tan stone backsplash to grey tile, and the dark walls and short upper cabinets to white cabinetry and a light marble-look quartz. The footprint stayed familiar — the kitchen just came back brighter and more open.
